FOTD : MAC Sand & Sun + Thank You Giveaway by Fleur de lis Creations

I finally did a look with MAC Eye Shadow Sand & Sun from the 'To the Beach Collection 2010'.

Honestly, this is maybe the 4th attempt to make Sand & Sun work for me. All previous attempts failed miserably. My eyes looked as they were irritated, haha... Yes I know, I have a pancake face! (^- ^)

Sand & Sun is a bright peachy color with a matte consistency. Feels a bit chalky, yet applies pretty smoothly.

This picture is to demonstrate the annoying neck lines that I have by nature... See how deep and awful they look? I hate my neck! (. _ .')

Color combo of the eye makeup:
MAC Eye Shadow ~ Sand & Sun / Jill Stuart Jelly Eye Color N ~ 02 gold light / Jill Stuart Jelly Eye Color N ~ 10 vintage deco

MAC Eye Shadow ~ Sand & Sun inner half of the eyelid. Jill Stuart Jelly Eye Color N ~ vintage deco on the outer half and a bit along the outer lower lashline. Jelly Eye Color N ~ 02 gold light in the middle of the eyelid and tear duct area (this will make the eyes gleam!).

Tightline and apply mascara. Simple as always, eh?!

I'm still loving Jelly Eye Colors a lot! So sparkly, and call me weird, but I'm really really addicted to the scent, haha... I don't know how to describe... hmm, maybe sugary and a bit flowery? It's just so yummy! :p

Laura Mercier Second Cheek Color ~ Orange Blossom is indeed a super pretty natural peachy color! Gives you a very subtle, yet fresh and glowy flush.

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté ~ 30 Faubourg Peach and Estee Lauder Lip Gloss ~ 34 Starlet Peach on top. Great combo!

The clover earrings I purchased from Shanghainese Dumpling are s adorable! So cute, yet elegant! Oh, and I also love my new scarf! It's made of very lightweight linen, thus great for summer! Feels super soft too!

Couldn't resist doing a kawaii face, haha...

FOTD : Cool and casual with MAC Moon's Reflection + The Opening of www.apopofkawaii.com Giveaway by Bang Bang She Shoots

I used to think that blue eyeshadows are hard to pull off. I was always concerned about ending up too flashy with blues, but it's actually all about choosing the right shade of blue.

Here is my cool and casual blue look I did yesterday! Quick and easy for daytime...

MAC Eye Shadow ~ Moon's Reflection (Veluxe Pearl) has a gorgeous texture. Goes on super smoothly and blends effortlessly. Moon's Reflection is a blue with white pearl that looks very soft against fair skin.

I have no idea why my complexion looks so ashy and ghastly here. The lighting must have gone weird... (= . =)/

Jill Stuart Jelly Eye Color N ~ 01 diamond as a base. Moon's Reflection allover the lid and along the lower lashline. Blended Shiseido Luminizing Satin Eye Color ~ GY 913 (dark grey) along the upper lashline and on the outer corner to add some depth.

Lastly, lined the waterline with Guerlain Eye Pencil ~ Khol Me Ivory 00 to make the eyes look brighter and more open.

Again Chanel Lèvres Scintillantes Glossimer ~ 257 Bikini Peach!

The pigmentation is very light, so your natural lip color will affect the color of Bikini Peach a lot. On my naturally pigmented lips, Bikini Peach turns out being a nude pinkish peach.

I really had the hardest time taking a good close up of Bikini Peach on my lips. Still not happy with this picture, but well...

Yay, doesn't Moon's Reflection match my shirt? Hehe... ;)

Haul: Chanel Summer 2010 'Les Pop-Up de Chanel' + FOTD : Instant Chic and Bikini Peach

Hi everyone, hope you all had a good start into the week! So, I got my hands on some Chanel goodies last week, which I'm going to show you in detail today! Besides the eyeshadow palette, everything is from the Les Pop-up De Chanel Collection for Summer 2010.

Chanel's packaging is so timeless and chic, isn't it?

CHANEL Lèvres Scintillantes Glossimer ~ 257 Bikini Peach (Limited Edition)

Bikini Peach... what a lovely name for a lipgloss! ;)

I think, I've already mentioned several times before that I'm a die-hard fan of Lèvres Scintillantes Glossimer, haven't I?

The texture of Glossimer is a bit thicker compared to lipglosses from other brands such as Dior or Yves Saint Laurent, but it does not feel sticky at all. I actually love that!

Lèvres Scintillantes Glossimer ~ 257 Bikini Peach is a super pretty pinkish peach shade with golden shimmer. Depending on your natural lip color, this will turn out a bit differently. Sorry for the bad swatch! Will try to swatch it again in better lighting!

CHANEL Rouge Allure Luminous Satin Lip Colour ~ 36 Darling

Although I'm such a die-hard fan of Chanel Lèvres Scintillantes Glossimer, I have to admit that I'm not that big on Chanel lipsticks for some reason. So, this is actually my second Chanel lipstick so far!

Unlike the texture of Rouge Coco, which I found rather dry, Rouge Allure has a very moisturizing texture, leaving the lips plump and decently glossy.

Love the elegant tube! Who does not love the Chanel logo, hehe...

Swatched on the back of my hand in natural light. Looks much redder than on my lips. Rouge Allure ~ 36 Darling is a MLBB color on my lips.

CHANEL Le Vernis Nail Colour ~ 517 Mistral (Limited Edition)

What more to say about this than it is a super summery pink nail color!?

CHANEL Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eye Shadow ~ 92 Bleu Célestes

I'm not sure, but did Chanel re-design the packaging of their Quadra Eye Shadow palettes recently. I've seen some have it with square shadows. Hmm, I wonder if they also changed the texture?

Actually, I was not in need of another blue palette, regarding I don't wear blue eyeshadows that often., but the sophisticated shades in Blue Célestes made me weak, haha...

The shades are: denim blue, frosty white, bright silvery blue and deep charcoal blue

Here is a quick look I did today using MAC Sheertone Blush ~ Instant Chic and Chanel Lèvres Scintillantes Glossimer ~ 257 Bikini Peach!

Didn't have enough time to think about my eye makeup, hence I went for a quick peachy brown look with Coffret D'or Jewelcious Eyes ~ 04. Excuse my overly puffy eyes and the dark under-eye bags! Went to bad ways too late! (o . O)

I love how glossy Chanel Lèvres Scintillantes Glossimer ~ Bikini Peach makes my lips look! The shimmer in it makes my lips look much fuller at once, hehe...! I failed at taking lip swatches today, but I will do again tomorrow, and hand it in for you!

MAC Sheertone Blush ~ Instant Chic is a really pretty peachy pink shade! I especially recommend it to fair Asion skintones! It gives you a super cute flush and instantly brightens your complexion!

Still trying to figure out how to line my waterline without ending up looking so fierce... Hmm, maybe I have to believe that lining my waterline completely just doesn't flatter my eye shape...

Hello uneven eyes! Haha... (~ . 0)

Have I told you that one of my favorite accessories are scarfs? I got this one last week. The flower print is so cute!

FOTD : Simple way to create more depth to flat Asian eyes 'MAC Gazette Grey and Dior Golden Spotlight'

Being 100% Chinese (Taiwanese to be correct, haha...), it is not surprising that I have typical flat and puffy Asian eyes. Actually, there is a tiny hidden crease, but generally speaking, I would say they are like monolids.

I had the hardest time figuring out how to apply eye makeup, to make my eyes appear brighter, and most importantly to me was, how to add depth in order to make the eyelids look less puffy without ending up with panda eyes, haha...

So today, I'm going to show you how I create more depth and definition. It's actually the quickest and simplest way I think. Basically, you will just need two shades - a dark color and a brighter color. Browns and greys are perfect neutrals for an everyday look, but any color will work as fine.

I used MAC Eye Shadow Gazette Grey, which is described as a 'dark green grey with gold pearl'. When I first swatched it, it felt chalky and didn't seem very pigmented to me, but I changed my mind! It goes on smooth when applied with a brush without any fallouts and is also easy to blend.

STEP 1
- Lunasol Shining Water Eyes EX 04 Shining Beige allover the lid as a base
- Dior Golden Spotlight allover the lid, in the inner corner and 1/2 of the lower lashline to brighten up the eyes

STEP 2

- MAC Gazette Grey from the lashline upwards following the natural shape of your eyes (make sure that the shade is visible when your eyes are open!)
- extend it a bit at the outer corner (this will make your eyes look larger)
- 1/2 of the outer lower lashline

STEP 3
- blend MAC Gazette Grey with a fluffy blending brush
- tightline the upper lashline

STEP 4
- apply mascara

Done! I'm applying my eye makeup this way most of the time with any eyeshadow. It's a super easy and quick 'technique' that never fails on me. I hope, this was helpful! ;)

.
.
.

I seriously think I either need better lighting or a new camera! The colors always get so washed out in my pictures, and I noticed they are a bit blurry too. How annoying is that?! @~&%#'+*?!/§" My bf suggested, I should save up for a DSLR...

Haha, doesn't it look super scary when I look downwards? Oops... the arch of my eyebrows have faded! I must have smudged it without noticing.

Bad angle alert, haha...! MAC Gazette Grey goes so well with Dior Golden Spotlight! I just love the sparkly look.

On my cheeks I used Laura Mercier Second Cheek Color ~ Fresh Ginger for a very subtle flush. It's not very pigmented, but anyone who is a fan of the 'au naturel look' will definitely love this blush! As to me, I do! You probably can't see in the photos, but the glow it gives me is awesome!

On my lips I'm wearing Guerlain Rouge G De Guerlain Jewel Lipstick ~ 02 Gardenia. The packaging of this lipstick is without doubt unique and precious, but honestly I don't like the automatic pop-up mechanism when pulling out the lipstick.

Wearing the Eiffel Tower earrings that I got from Ena of Shanghainese Dumpling! So girly and cute!
