FOTD : Shimmery Warm Brown Eyes with Esprique Precious Dress On Shiny Eyes C-1

I did a look with the Esprique Precious Dress On Shiny Eyes C-1 today. I'm a bit disappointed, cause the browns, which are more on the warmer side don't really flatter my complexion.

So, I felt a bit uncomfortable with these shades, but nevertheless, I think the colors are very pretty and I adore how shimmery the colors are!

I feel it makes my eyelids look even puffier as they already are, and somehow not awake. You get what I mean? Maybe I have to skip the medium brown color of this palette, since it's too orange to me. I love the champagne color and the dark brown a lot.

Kept the cheeks subtle with Guerlain Blush 4 Éclats ~ Soleil Couchant 02. I tried to make them look lightly sunkissed. Oh, and have I ever mentioned that I love the Dior Capture Totale Radiance High Definition Loose Powder? It really makes the skin so smooth and radiant!

Maybe I have to skip the medium brown color of this palette, since this is the warmest shade to me. I love the champagne color and the dark brown a lot.

Aren't my lips super glossy today? I'm wearing KANEBO Sensai Deep Moist Shine Rouge ~ MS 108 Botan and on top of it Chanel Lèvres Scintillantes Glossimer ~ 121 Beige Guitar.

The shimmer of the Esprique Precious Dress On Shiny Eyes palettes are much more intense compared to the Lunasol palettes that I have.

Close up of the eye: hello, can my lids be more puffier? Gosh, I have so many dry lines around my eye area! :/ I have to look for a good anti-aging eye cream I think!

That's it. Now, I'm going to wash all my brushes, hehe... feel like I have quite neglected doing that lately. :)

Finally... New Header Banner!

Hello everyone! This is just quick post about my new header banner. It was finally a sunny day, so I used the opportunity to take some pictures for creating a header banner. Actually, I wanted to do that long ago... so yeah, I finally made it today! ;)

Oh, and maybe you have noticed, I have the summarizing feature [ READ MORE... ] on my blog now. Actually, it took me ages to do this, but I failed time after time. I was clueless and depressed... o_O

At this point many many thanks to Innerchild, Fuz and Zwala. They all helped me the HTML problem I had. Now, it finally works properly. They spent so much time on it just for helping me out, can you believe? They are awesome! I surely couldn't have done this without their help. THANK YOU! <3>_o

Happy blogging!

R E V I E W : LUNASOL Skin Fusing Powder Foundation

Today, I'm going to do the requested review of the Lunasol Skin Fusing Powder Foundation ~ YO 02. If you have read my previous entry, you probably know that I'm really LOVING it! ;)

The shade YO 02 (quite yellow toned) is actually a bit too dark for me, although it looks super white in the pictures, haha... It's definitely my camera that seems to wash out the colors so immensely. :(

Jamilla offered me to swap this shade against a lighter one for me. Isn't she a sweetheart? Thank you, Jamilla!

By the way, these two pictures show how pigmented my lips are - I'm not wearing anything at all. Please excuse my nasty no-makeup face, but hey I took these pics instantly after getting out of the bed today (what a lousy excuse, haha...). Now, definitely know why I'm such a makeup / beauty addict, hehe... ;]

( click on the picture to enlarge )

I took the picture with the foundation on immediately after application, so my face looks a bit powdery and matte, but no worries! Shortly after, my complexion turns natural and slightly glowy - as if the powder melted into my skin.

You see the huge pores on my nose (awful!) and the redness on my cheeks in the left picture? In the right picture, the pores are hardly visible anymore, and the redness is all evened out, isn't it?

I have combination skin with a quite dry cheek area and a slightly oilier T-zone, and I have to retouch during the course of the day. But after all, my complexion still looks quite good at the end of the day.

I dab the powder on to the T-zone with the provided sponge. For the rest of my face I use the MAC 187 Duo Fibre Brush.

  • very very hydrating
  • covers enlarged pores perfectly, does not sink into them unlike so many powder tend to do
  • extremely smooth and non-drying texture that does not accentuate any dry flakes
  • good coverage, yet natural
  • gives a light glowy complexion
  • lovely packaging (love the slim and glossy case)
  • comes with a high-quality sponge (feels so soft) that it perfect for touch-ups during the day
  • hard to reach here in Europe (except at online shops of course)
  • quite pricey
The absolute best powder foundation that I have come across until now. Seriously, I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a powder foundation, but don't like a matte and cakey finish (most powder foundations do make the complexion matte and dull looking, not?). I'll always repurchase this now, unless I find something even better, hehe...

6 colors 10.5g SPF20-PA++
* Sold separately:

What liquid and cream foundations have always been able to do, but powder-based foundations could not. That was integrating with the skin and producing a refined radiance.
A new foundation has been created that superbly addresses these aspects and realizes a finish of such elegant radiance that is hard to believe it is a powder foundation.
It combines beautifully with your skin in that it becomes a part of your skin rather than just being applied to the surface, and coats your skin to produce the appearance of no pores or roughness.
This foundation is not at all powdery, and it also succeeds in creating clarity with depth and a radiance that emanates from within.
It stays as fresh as when you first applied it, despite sweat, sebum and dullness.
LUNASOL proudly dedicates this new powder foundation to all sophisticated women.

I hope this review was helpful for you, guys! ;)

Hey you know what? Another Ichibankao package will be with me in about 2 - 3 weeks. More Japanese goodies, yay! Ehhh... am I a poser or what? Haha... ^_^ To make it more exciting, I'm not going into any details yet, hehe...

FOTD : Khaki Eyes with Lunasol Lighting For Eyes 05 Khaki + Lunasol Skin Fusing Powder Foundation

As promised, here is my FOTD using the Lunasol Lighting For Eyes ~ 05 Khaki and the Lunasol Skin Fusing Powder Foundation!

Before I start with the pictures, let first me say that I'm so in LOVE with the Lunasol Skin Fusing Powder Foundation! I think, it's by far the best one I've ever come across so far (and believe me, I have tried tons until now, hehe - I prefer powder foundations more than liquid ones for their convenience, and my sensitive skin seems to like them more).

It applies powdery, but instantly melts into skin. My enlarged pores on my nose are covered up nicely, the complexion is evened out, and the finish is soooo amazing! No cakeyness, no dryness - but smoothness, and a glowy complexion!

After several hours, my skin still looks very hydrated and even more glowy. The color YO 02 is a tiny bit too dark for my very fair skintone, but I think, it still looks natural. Seriously - I have never had a better powder foundation! It actually does what it claims. Thumbs up!

I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a powder foundation that does not look like a powder on your face (I hope, I make sense, haha...). I'll do a proper review on this if wished. ;)

Now, moving on to the pictures of my FOTD... I took the pictures in the bathroom today, since it was such a cloudy day.

I'm surprised, the lighting in the bathroom made the colors show up quite as it looks in real, aside from appearing a bit washed out of course. Oh, and if only the shimmer showed up better AND if only my face wasn't so chubby...

The innocent cute girl look? Haha... :)

I'm wearing the Dior Addict High Shine ~ 154 Designer Coral today. Isn't it a pretty peachy pink color? I think it's so very summery. By the way, why do I always peer in photos?

Hold it... do my lashes seem longer at once? Must be the Talika Lipocils Conditioning Gel that I've been religiously using for 3 days now, hmm...?

You like my side face? ;) I heart khaki - I think this color really flatters me. Like my sister used to say "Sis, let me tell you - you are the earth type!" She must be right, haha... What do you think?

Close up of the eye: taken in front of the window in natural light.
I also tried to apply mascara on my tiny and sparse lower lashes for the first time, haha... oohh, how smudgy!

R E V I E W : LA MER The Refining Facial

Finally, the long awaited review of the LA MER The Refining Facial.

First of all, let me tell you that I was quite skeptical about buying this, since I believed that La Mer's heavy price tag is due to advertising strategy, and not because it is really that high quality.

Well, but I got intrigued by Fuz, haha... after I watched one of her videos in which she said it was one of her hg products, I finally made up my mind to give it a try of course. Now, thanks to the lovely Fuz that I tried this out! I'm LOVING it!

I'm using this about once to twice a week (I've been using it for about 2 month now, I think). Girl, my skin has never been so polished, smooth and soothed at the same time! I think, it must be the diamond powder that it contains, haha...

  • very fine granules that doesn't irritate my super sensitive skin at all
  • leaves my skin super polished and refined
  • soothes my skin (unlike most scrubs that tend to leave my skin red, burning and patchy afterwards)
  • comfortable lightweight scent
  • clean and simple packaging (I love the sleek tube!)
  • a little goes a long way
  • the heavy price tag

( click the picture to enlarge )

Yes, it is indeed super expensive, but also keep in mind, it's quite efficient. I believe one tube can last me half a year (or maybe longer). If you have super sensitive skin like me, and most scrubs seem to irritate your skin, this product is the first choice to go for! I'll repurchase it again and again now.

This multi-action complex instantly smoothes and boosts skin's brightness and radiance - revealing a fresh new surface. The Refining Facial utilizes fermented acidic sea muds to soften skin and gently lift away dry surface cells. As the cream is lightly massaged onto the face, pure diamond powder and polished sea quartz perform as physical exfoliants while smart minerals convert the massage action into energy. Circulation is immediately stimulated and skin is awakened.

Based on skin cycles, this resurfacing treatment may only be needed once a week. Apply onto clean, dampened face and throat, avoiding the eye area. Massage with fingertips, using upward and circular motions. Rinse well. Follow with The Tonic or The Oil Absorbing Tonic.

WARNING: For external use only. Do not use on fresh or open wounds.
